WELTSPIEGEL

The “Weltspiegel” in Cottbus is, with it´s 100 year history, one of the oldest functional buildings for cinema in Germany. The new operator wanted “Studio Alexander Fehre” to redesign and to extend the cinema. A new building was added to the heritage building, with two additional theaters and a bar. The historic hall, with 520 seats, was made usable for events with a retractable platform. The restored ceiling brought out historical symbols on a gold ceiling, which is now the highlight of the room. The combination of the historic old building and the modern elements in the new building offers visitors a whole new cinema experience.
